Angrej (2015)

Set in Punjab in 1945 during the final years of the British Raj, a young man named Geja falls in love with Maado, but their relationship is complicated by family expectations and social differences. When a wealthy suitor enters Maado's life, Geja's romantic hopes are thrown into uncertainty. Blending romance, comedy and a richly recreated portrait of rural Punjabi culture, the film follows love, friendship and tradition on the eve of Partition.
